Dread Empress Magnificent, First of Her Name, was an alternate version of Akua Sahelian faced by the three alternate versions of Catherine Foundling in the Fourfold Crossing. She appeared at the end of The Tolltaker, General Foundling, and White Knight Catherine's stories, telling them to kneel. Each of them, along with the original version, killed the version of Akua they faced, allowing Catherine to escape from the Fourfold Crossing.
Each of the three stories about the alternative versions of Catherine ends with the same line, likely an ironic reference to the song In Dread Crowned, which was written about Catherine herself.
