The Duke of Violent Squalls is a Fae noble of the Winter Court. Catherine Foundling dueled him to the death in order to gain the power of a Fae title.[1]
The Duke's role in the Fae Courts' story is the one who spoils an attempted peace.[2] This role makes him very powerful for a Duke, since he is thwarting the Crown's own designs. In the story Catherine encountered, he was the host of a party that the Summer Court Princess of High Noon was attending, and featured a choir of visibly abused Summer prisoners that the hot-headed Princess would cause a brawl trying to free.[3]
